Usual(?) day again

11.06.2008

Ah, what a day!

Last day of Windows Server 2008 usage and administration course behind. Three hard days of learning new features etc. Oh joy ;)

But, what a train trip back home, seriously! Ticket-collectors here in Finland feel like they’d have an water melon stuck into the place where the sun does not shine. Oh what a difference was today’s ticket-collector! He actually used a whistle to inform that the train was about to leave the train station, like in the old days.

Brought a smile to mine and many other face. I need to send some feedback to VR about this.

Rough start

2.06.2008

Uh, what a Monday.

woke up 5:30AM, took shower and tried to wake up. I had to wake up so early because I was going to be at work before 7AM. I’m participating on Windows Vista management (MCITP) training for three days and today was the first day. 9AM was scheduled start.

So, the reason I had to be at work before 7AM was to check up servers, network and the usuals so I would have some time to react before the training starts..

Well. didn’t make it to the office before 7AM, not even 07:40AM. Thanks to the local bus going to train station. Bus was leaving at 06:10AM from the first stop on the route, and that was the time I was at my local stop. Plenty of time to wait, I thought. Could I have been more wrong? Still at the bus stop, time about 06:28AM, train was leaving at 06:32AM. Called my wife that lift to the train stop would be nice. Missed the next train leaving at 06:41AM also, so 07:00AM train was the next one. I got eventually to the office at about 07:45AM.

Such is life, no reason to spoil the whole day because of the morning.

Kneecap however is causing pain more than usual. I almost destroyed my left kneecap over a month ago. Nothing is broken (meaning I hopefully won’t need any surgical operation..) which is really good news. I think it was just the prolonged walking over the weekend.

Hopefully my leg is better tomorrow.

Busy day

1.06.2008

Oh what a fun day!

Tough and long, but oh my did we have fun.

Woke up around 7AM, did they usual morning routines like teethbrushing, porridge, clean clothes for boys… And out we went!

First stop was by our car to our local trainstop and from there to Pasila. Our first target was Linnanmäki, which is one of the rare amusement parks here in Finland.

Three hours of “free” ride, as it was a private party. My wife’s company arranges the whole amusement park for it’s employees once every summer. Good gesture from them, I have to say.

From there, we went to see our young older boys godmother, who promised to treat us with a meal. Spent some time there, talked about life and related..

Then we left to home, and almost missed our train back to our homestop. Would have made us 30 min waiting for the next train. Good that we got to the train in time!

Back at home, older boy wanted to go to play to the yard, even though of the long day. Have to wonder where he digs all the energy! Younger boy wanted to go inside and spend some time with mommy. I stayed outside and watched the older boy running around the yard.

Then we went inside, I made few sandwiches for kids and then to teethbrush and took them to bed.
